Description
This was such a great Spiritual Adventure to Chunyaxché to see the pyramid (El Castillo) and archeological structures, Sian Ka'an and jungle in Muyil.
Artifacts found here date back from as early as 350 BC. to as late as 1200-1500 AD. The ruins of Muyil are an example of Peten architecture, like those found in southern Mayan sites with their steep walled pyramids, interlocking levels and unified by sweeping stairs. El Castillo (pyramid) is 57 feet high, the highest pyramid on the Riviera Maya Coast.
It is situated on the Sian Ka'an lagoon, a name meaning "Where the Sky is Born". The views are incredible!
